Tyre work 25 May 07
What a fantastic workout!  Chris and Steve arrived just before 4:30pm, got themselves organised with some hydration and sweat clothes and we began.

Workout:

Joint mobility to warmup

20/20 snatches right/left (24kg kettlebell)
20 pushups
15/15 snatches right/left
15 pushups
10/10 snatches right/left
10 pushups
5/5 snatches right/left
5 pushups

rest 4 minutes

followed by 3 rounds, tag team style, of:

2 x 15 meter tyre in/out (flip jump in jump out runaround and repeat)
2 x 15 meter farmers walk with 2 x 48kg kettlebells alternating with partner until tyre in/out is done then rotate
(one round is complete when everyone has completed one tyre in/out)

I slipped up on one thing ... in my haste I forgot to time the workout, but it was done in less than 30 minutes.  Next time I will time the workout and post the times.

Hi Shaun,

Brilliant workout on Friday. There is such an enormous difference between my old gym training (focus on looking good I suppose) compared to Kettlebells. The focus on strength makes so much more sense and means that you are not just fit for one thing only, but are genuinely strong - like being able to lift a tractor tyre! (Not that this is a practical problem in my line of work, but being able to sure is a good feeling......). It also means that you don't just sit around doing one thing every single week, but have a bit of variety in your training - certainly keeps your motivation up.

Cheers,

Steve
